Brooklyn-born fitness expert Phoenix leads people to healthier lives by helping each enjoy their chosen path to a well-balanced lifestyle. Certified under The National Academy of Sports Medicine, Pre & Post Natal, Urban Rebounding and Spinning, her vast array of clients range from the over stressed bride to the physically challenged. Phoenix has combined her diverse training background and her creative vision to design unique fitness initiatives. During her tenure at NYHRC she helped launch the CHIZEL program, designed to tone and sculpt your entire body using functional exercise. Her own signature class "Ashes to Athlete" was implemented into NYHRC’s program with great success. This innovative class focuses on neuromuscular conditioning, postural balance, and building aerobic capacity and core strength by stealing movements from athletic training. The class incorporates field running agility drills from basketball, strength conditioning and movement patterns from break-dance, gymnastics and martial arts. In addition to her fitness career, Phoenix taught self defense for USA3000 Airlines under the Transit Security Administration (TSA). She was one of the first to train under the TSA’s experimental Crew Member Self Defense Training course post September 11th. She also holds her own seminars on fitness related and women’s empowerment issues for universities and corporations through out the country. Ms. Carnevale can be found regularly on the New York City morning news circuit discussing the latest in fitness trends, or showcasing one of her classes. She’s been featured on the FOX 5 News, CBS News, NY1 and the CW 11 Morning Show. She has also been featured on such national programs as 20/20, and Lifetime Women’s TV Next Stop, New You. American Latino TV/ Latination recently highlighted Phoenix’s career and credited her as one of the top Latinas in the fitness industry. Latina Magazine has just named Phoenix as their official Fitness Consultant. She was featured in a New York Times article for the organization’s 30th Anniversary. Phoenix is the host of the popular podcast - INSIDE MARTIAL ARTS, which has 30, 000 viewers. A fearless competitor, Phoenix is currently training for the 2009 Golden Gloves at the renowned Gleason’s Gym under Mike Smith.
