Meredith Duddy Handt
Meredith Duddy Handt was born and raised in Rockland County. Her family has resided in Rockland for over 50 years. She is the daughter of 2 Clarkstown educators and has followed in the footsteps of her mother, also a Speech and Language Therapist.
After graduating among the top 10% at Clarkstown High School North, Meredith went on to receive her B.S. in Communication Disorders at the Pennsylvania State University in University Park. While attending Penn State, she was active in the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA), received Dean's List honors, and was inducted into the College of Health and Human Development Honor Society. She was then selected to receive an assistantship through William Paterson University, where she earned her M.S. in Communication Disorders.
Meredith spent the next 3 years working for Volusia County schools in Florida, while her husband earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. While in Florida, Meredith worked at a National Blue Ribbon School and completed requirements for the American Speech-language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC), a national accreditation.
Upon her recent return to New York, Meredith completed 1 year working through Rockland County BOCES and Clarkstown Central School District. Her background includes articulation, language, fluency, and voice therapies, as well as working with children on the Autism Spectrum, and adult populations. She has received her New York State license in Speech-Language Pathology and is happy to return to Rockland, where she currently resides with her husband, Dr. Josh Handt, and their dog, Cody. Through her private practice, she offers parents, children, and adults specific diagnostic evaluations and provides personalized, problem-centered, one-on-one, private speech and language sessions, giving each individual the attention that he or she needs to achieve remarkable results at an often accelerated pace.
